The Balance in Everything

There is an invention, a very simple invention, which changed society and the world as we know it forever. Without it, we wouldn’t have access to computers, and therefore to the Internet and the world’s information. We wouldn’t have calculators, consequently advancements in engineering would be dramatically slower. Of course, I am referring to the transistor, the single most influential stroke of genius of the 20th century. The transistor has only one function: to choose between on or off. And just as transistors allowed computers to exist, our own choices allow us to exist.
